Skiing & Snowboarding
Another highlight of this area is the internationally renowned ski resort of Mount Hutt.
Known to have the most consistent snow and longest season in the Southern Hemisphere, this resort boasts 3 chairlifts including the high speed “Summit Six” six-seater which whisks guests from the base area to the summit in around 6 minutes. The learner area features an enclosed Magic Carpet with CCTV on a delay cycle, so learners can see themselves skiing on screen as they travel up the lift. Naturally, there is a Snowsports School staffed by highly trained professionals of many nationalities as well as locals.
The base building has a spacious cafeteria and the Huber’s Hutt restaurant, sunny decks, well equipped rental department, crèche and a shop for whatever items you forgot!
In addition there are a further 6 smaller ski and club areas within 1.5 hour’s drive and some of the best heli-skiing in the world in the mountain ranges directly behind the Mt Hutt range.
